I’m Derek Warner, Director of Undergraduate Studies for the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
My research group, the Cornell Fracture Group, conducts both scientific and engineering research aimed at understanding and predicting the failure of structures. A primary scientific goal of my group is to illuminate and model the physical mechanisms that control the failure of engineering materials. Through our research, we strive to increase the standard of living across the globe by enabling better performing, lower cost, and more sustainable technologies.
